Predict Engine preferences can be edited via the menu "UVR/Preferences" or using the Preferences button of the Predict Engine View.
Preferences are not automatically saved in Unreal Engine. In order to save your preferences, you must call the "Set as Default" button on top.
The Path Tracer section offers some options on how the Predict Engine path tracer works :
The Engine Interface section offers some options on how the Predict Engine interface works :
Start Data Upload At Unreal Startup : the level content must be communicated to the Predict Engine server, this means sending the geometries, materials, etc. to the server. This task can take some time, especially for big levels with a lot of data. If true, the loading of the level data will start as soon as Unreal Engine is started. If false, the loading will only start when the Play button is hit the first time, making the first load a little bit longer,
Trace Mode : defines how many messages are logged in the Output Log window,
Texture interpolation mode : defines how the texture is displayed in the Predict Engine View, does not affect the actual simulation,
Update Transforms smoothly : if true, Transforms will be updated regularly when dragging Actors in the level. If false, Transforms will only be updated once the Actor is released (better optimization, less messages sent to the server),
Resolutions : the list of resolutions available in the Predict Engine View.
