If you have already installed Predict Engine and activated your license, you can go directly to the next step :
You must ensure you have a valid installation of Predict Engine on your computer. You can either use the Predict Engine installer or unzip the install on your machine. We recommand installing Predict Engine at its default path : C:\Program Files\United Visual Researchers\UVR Predict Engine 2.0.
If you installed Predict Engine at its default path, your setup is complete.
If you installed Predict Engine somewhere else on your machine, you must indicate where it is in your UE project preferences : open the menu "UVR/Preferences" and find the server path (uvr-desktop-server.exe) in the "Server/Server Local Path" field. You can also use a server remotely using the Server IP.
Preferences are not automatically saved in Unreal Engine. In order to save your preferences, you must call the "Set as Default" button on top.
Your machine setup will be checked during the installation of Predict Engine. If your machine cannot support the Predict suite, you might get the following errors : "The installed GPU is not supported", or "The GPU driver is not supported". Please make sure your machine follows the next requirements.
Requirements :
OS: Predict Engine can be installed on Windows (10 or higher) or Linux (kernel >=3.18).
GPU:
Predict Engine requires at least a Nvidia Pascal GPU (GeForce GTX 1050 TI 4go), but we recommend using a Turing card (RTX 2070 8go) or above (see details bellow).
If you have several GPU on your machine and one of them is not supported by Predict Engine, you can select which GPU are attributed to Predict Engine in the Nvidia Control Panel:
Open the Nvidia control panel by right-clicking on your desktop,
Select Manage 3D Settings under 3D Settings,
Click on the Program Settings tab and select Predict Engine,
Change the CUDA Graphics Processors.
Drivers: The Nvidia video driver version should be 570 or higher and the Nvidia card compute capability should be of 6.0 or higher. See this link for details on which driver is currently installed: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2039/~/how-do-i-determine-which-nvidia-display-driver-version-is-currently-installed.
Here are the detailed GPU requirements for Predict Engine :
If you are having trouble with the installation, feel free to contact us and, if needed, run the following program to get more details on your machine configuration : UVR Predict System Check.
The alpha version of Predict Unreal doesn't require a licence activation.
